Meet the Team
You've probably seen us at the school gate.
The Team
Here's who we are
XTND isn’t a big organisation. There’s no head office, no switchboard, no receptionist.
There’s us. Four people who turn up every day because we care about families in the local community. We’re based at Bournville Primary School and Windwhistle Primary School, so you’ll find us where you’d expect — at the gate, in the Hut, setting up for the next group.
Here’s who we are.
Tamara Moody
Administrator and Family Engagement Worker
Tamara keeps so much of our work running smoothly behind the scenes. She handles the organisation and administration for all our groups, making sure everything is ready so families can simply turn up and feel welcome. She also plays a key role in our grant writing, helping secure the funding that keeps our sessions running, and she works closely with the schools to organise events throughout the year.
Alongside this, she runs Bournville Tots, creating a relaxed and friendly space for parents, carers, and little ones to meet each week.
Most people know her from the school gate, where she’s a familiar and approachable face — ready for a chat, a question, or simply to say hello. Her presence in the community helps families feel comfortable, connected, and confident in reaching out.
Alice Wheatley
Charity Co-ordinator
Alice plays a central role in shaping and sustaining the work we do across the local area. She has been part of XTND for seven years and is well known within the community — often found on the school gate or out in local spaces, where families can easily stop for a chat or ask about what’s happening.
Alongside building relationships and being a familiar, approachable presence, Alice oversees the day-to-day running of the charity. She supports staff, develops new projects, and works hard behind the scenes to secure the funding needed to keep XTND running.
Her mix of community connection and organisational leadership helps ensure the charity remains rooted in local needs while staying stable and well supported for the future.
Kate Price
Family Engagement Worker
Kate is one of XTND’s family engagement workers, and she brings energy and creativity to the wide range of groups she runs across the community. She leads sessions that welcome families of all ages and enjoys serving up a variety of food.
Whether it’s a practical skills session, a family event, or a group designed to help people connect with others, Kate’s friendly and approachable manner helps everyone feel comfortable. Her work plays an important part in building relationships across the local area and making sure families have accessible, enjoyable opportunities to get involved in community life.
Cheryl Reason
Group Facilitator
Cheryl runs our popular cooking group and brings a warm, welcoming atmosphere to everything she does. She first came to XTND as a parent attending our sessions, and over time became such a valued part of the groups that she eventually joined the team.
Now she helps deliver the activities she once took part in, creating a relaxed space where families can learn new skills, try new recipes, and enjoy being together. Her friendly approach puts people at ease.
